Obama will loose the Presidency if:

The unemployment rate. Threshold number: over 9 percent.

The price of gas. Threshold number: over $3.75 per gallon

The Dow Jones average. Threshold number: under 12,832

Here are three numbers that will indicate whether voters are feeling more comfortable when they head for the polls on Election Day, and are therefore likely to reelect Obama, or are feeling increasingly dissatisfied and are more likely to tap his Republican opponent.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The Obama administration was poised on Wednesday to reject the Keystone crude oil pipeline, according to sources, a decision that would be welcomed by environmental groups but inflame the domestic energy industry.

The administration could make its announcement on TransCanada’s Keystone XL pipeline late on Wednesday or on Thursday, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters. TransCanada Corp. shares slid more than 3 percent after the news.

Response: Obama wants to make our country more dependant on foreign oil, so as to make the cost of fuel more expensive, in order to increase the manufacture of electric cars. Let our free system take care of energy involvement. This next presidential election will be the most important in our lifetime. Do we want makers or takers? There are so many polls that say something different, but this one says Obama has an over 50% chance of winning. In my opinion, four more years of Obama will reduce the status of the USA to the level of the countries in Europe. Question to ask oneself – how are they doing? My statement to the liberals is – you are not going to become rich or better than your lifestyle now, under Obama. Research other countries. Point out one that you would like us to emulate.

Gingrich Backs Obamacare’s Individual Mandate Requiring Health Insurance

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Sunday that he strongly supports a federal mandate requiring citizens to buy health insurance – a position that has been rejected by many Republicans, including several who likely will be running against him for the Republican presidential nomination.

Appearing on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Gingrich told host David Gregory that he continues to advocate for a plan he first called for in the early 1990s as a Congressman, which requires every uninsured citizen to purchase or acquire health insurance.

Gregory played a clip of Gingrich speaking during an appearance on Meet the Press in October 1993:

“I am for people, individuals — exactly like automobile insurance — individuals having health insurance and being required to have health insurance. And I am prepared to vote for a voucher system which will give individuals, on a sliding scale, a government subsidy so we insure that everyone as individuals have health insurance.”

Gregory asked Gingrich if he would criticize GOP presidential rival Mitt Romney, whose “Romneycare” health program enacted during his time as Governor in Massachusetts mandated that all uninsured purchase health insurance.

Gingrich replied he would not make it an issue in the campaign and said he agreed with key aspects of Romneycare.

“I agree that all of us have a responsibility to pay–help pay for health care,” Gingrich said, adding, “I’ve said consistently we ought to have some requirement that you either have health insurance or you post a bond …”

Gingrich also admitted that his proposal is a “variation” of the individual mandate, a key component of the Obamacare legislation President Obama signed into law in 2010.

The position staked out by Gingrich appears to be at odds with leading conservative critics of Obamacare, who argue that the law requiring citizens to purchase a private insurance policy is not constitutional.

The Obama administration is currently facing three lawsuits arguing that the federal mandate is unconstitutional, including one filed by a coalition of 26 states.

The issue is on track for a Supreme Court decision in the summer of 2012, which would make it a likely hot-button topic heading into the elections.

Conservative GOP critics like Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli say the mandate is unconstitutional because although Congress can regulate commerce, it can’t require people to engage in a particular “economic activity” just because they live in the U.S.

Conservative judicial experts have also taken exception to the claim made by Gingrich and supporters of the Obamacare law that mandating health insurance is the same as the government requirement to purchase car insurance, noting that driving a car is a privilege provided by states and not a constitutional right.

Cucinelli says that “buying auto insurance is voluntary, since you are only required to purchase it if you choose to drive on public roads. But buying health insurance under the new federal law is not voluntary, as you are required to buy it just by virtue of the fact that you are breathing. The federal government has never before in history exercised its regulatory power to require someone to buy a product or service as a condition of residence in the United States.”

Gingrich, though, seemed to disagree with that notion on Sunday, though he was quick to point out the differences between his plan and the federal health law.

“In, in the first place, Obama basically is trying to replace the entire insurance system, creating state exchanges, building a Washington-based model, creating a federal system,” Gingrich told NBC’s David Gregory. “I believe all of us–and this is going to be a big debate–I believe all of us have a responsibility to help pay for healthcare …”

Romney has not come under fire for not disowning his health care plan, which has caused private health care insurance rates to skyrocket as patient services have declined in Massachusetts.

Gingrich’s position quickly came under fire from several conservative blogs on Sunday.

“He tried to distinguish his mandate from the Obama mandate, but with little success,” the American Federalist Journal wrote on Sunday.

“Sandbagging your fellow Republicans in Congress and offering tacit support for a key (unconstitutional) component of Obamacare is a very strange way to begin a run in a Republican primary. Not a strong start.”

The Wall Street Journal called Gingrich’s description of an ideal healthcare plan with mandates a “pretty good description of what the Democratic Congress passed into law last year.”

The Journal continued: “Beginning in 2014, most Americans who don’t have insurance will be required to pay a fee, with many, depending on income, getting subsidies to help buy coverage through state-based exchanges.”

The conservative website Red State said Gingrich “won’t exactly endear him to the Tea Party crowd or the reform minded movement sweeping the GOP.”

The National Right to Work Act just received an unexpected endorsement from the Obama National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).In fact, the forced unionism apologists have finally admitted that Right to Work laws are such a powerful tool for job creation, workers who benefit from these protections should be thrown out of their jobs.

I know this is confusing, so let me explain.

You see, yesterday the NLRB’s acting general counsel, Lafe Solomon, issued a complaint against Boeing, the airline manufacturer.

In 2009, Boeing opened a new plant in South Carolina, one of 22 states that protect the Right to Work, employing over 1000 hardworking Americans.

But Solomon has agreed with International Association of Machinists union bosses who want to shut down the plant because they can’t force the workers to pay any dues or “fees.”

Solomon’s complaint is outrageous. It’s no secret that Right to Work laws spur job growth and innovation, which is exactly why Boeing opted to build in South Carolina.

The Wall Street Journal today called the decision “The Death of Right to Work.” If the NLRB can tell a company it can’t hire workers in Right to Work states, it can do anything.

But to paraphrase Mark Twain, the rumors of our death are greatly exaggerated.

As you know, we have a plan to end forced unionism nationwide.

It’s called the National Right to Work Act.

An exclusive Newsmax/IBOPE Zogby International poll shows New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie so dominates the GOP field for 2012 that he garners more than twice as many votes as his nearest Republican competitor.

The new poll reflects growing momentum for Christie, despite his repeated insistence that he’s not ready to be president and has no intention of running.

Christie’s strong showing is likely to further encourage those Republicans who are actively engaged in mustering support for a campaign to draft him to run. Supporters launched a DraftChristie2012 website last October.

The Newsmax/IBOPE Zogby survey shows Christie to be the choice of 23.6 percent of likely GOP primary voters. That dwarfs the 10.3 percent for second-place finisher Sarah Palin.

“Conservative voters like Chris Christie,” pollster John Zogby tells Newsmax, “because he offers an actual governing model that’s consistent with his and their philosophy.

“Essentially, he has been fearless in terms of tackling unions, tackling budget cuts, and so on,” Zogby says. “But they also know that he’s an affable personality, that he does not come off as this angry radical, but as a credible fellow.

“And at the same time,” says Zogby, “he’s portly, he’s real, he’s not out of central casting. And in many ways, for Republicans, he’s the un-Obama.”

Zogby says the results are consistent with other polls that show Christie dominating the field when he’s among the choices pollsters offer voters.

A Gallup poll released earlier this week, which did not include Christie as an option, showed former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee leading the GOP pack.

Others rounding out the field in the survey:

Newt Gingrich — 7.9 percent
Mitt Romney — 7 percent
Ron Paul — 7 percent
Michele Bachmann — 6.9 percent
Mike Huckabee — 6.8 percent
Tim Pawlenty — 5.9 percent
Donald Trump — 5.1 percent
Mitch Daniels — 2.6 percent
Haley Barbour — 1.5 percent

One of the survey’s most interesting findings: “None of these” placed fourth with 7.8 percent. And “not sure” placed fifth with 7.6 percent.

According to Zogby, that signals the 2012 GOP race is wide open.

“This is a year for Republicans when I think being a fresh face may count for more than anything else – much the same way as it happened for Democrats three years ago,” he tells Newsmax. “It’s fluid, very fluid.”

Zogby said Christie, who shocked pundits by defeating then-incumbent Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine in November 2009, is actually benefiting from not being a candidate.

“He cannot be a candidate right now,” Zogby tells Newsmax. “It’s too soon. He has unfinished work. The voters in his constituency in New Jersey would be angry and horrified. So the scenario for him would be to respond to an irresistible draft.”

Without a draft movement, Zogby says, it is difficult to see how Christie could get into the race.

The Newsmax/IBOPE Zogby international poll was conducted March 25 through March 28. Data on the GOP field was based on 1,030 online surveys of likely GOP primary voters. It has a margin of error of plus/minus 3.1 percent.
